Our founder and lead designer grew up sailing in New England and the Caribbean and studied textile design at the California College of Art in the Bay Area. With a background in fine arts and a diverse career spanning textile production and technical marketing, she was inspired to create the Bateau product line in 2023. Drawing inspiration from sailing adventures plus a love of design and the Old World allure of European coastal villages, the Bateau products are designed to embody a maritime vibe with a nod to European culture. We strive to create products with functional beauty, appealing to both sailors and shoreside folks alike.
